Worth Reading!

The recent events in my life had filled me with loads of negative thoughts. After the death of my father, I deeply felt the need to be revived and urged for getting a positive outlook about my life. It was then that I accidentally came across this book named, "Positive Living through Positive Affirmations," written by Sylvester Renner and somehow found the new path for my life to follow. This book provided with the required resources for filling the positivity in my life. While exploring this book, I came across more than 1200 affirmations of positivity, which reprogrammed my mind with positive thoughts. This book renewed my life completely and I somehow felt charged enough to cope up with the worst phase of my life.
Reading this book has changed my perspective towards life and affected my subconscious mind positively. Ever since I had been reading this book, I have witnessed tremendous changes in my daily habits, reactions, and lifestyle. Today, I feel happy about my life and my own self. My key to happiness and positivity

The excessive pressure at my work place had taken a toll on me. Of late, this pressure at the professional front had started affecting my life on the personal front too. My kids were scared of me as I used to get irritated and angry most of the times. My wife was tired of pacifying me and could see no light in this dark tunnel of negativity. It was then that my in-laws gifted me this book, named, "Positive Living through Positive Affirmations."
Initially, owing to my tormented state of mind, I declined reading this book. But, after continued persuasion from my wife, I finally succumbed to turning over the book for once. The excessive negativity in my life had blocked all the paths for ray of positivity to enter. As I started reading this book, with every passing day, my life started following a new path; the path filled with positivity.
This book encompasses positive affirmations on different categories including health, family, goals, etc. Enchanting and meditating on these affirmations, have filled me with the energy to tackle the work pressure and do away with the negativities in life. The destructive thoughts of my life have been replaced with the constructive and energized perspectives. All thanks to this amazing collection of 272 pages.

The book approaches affirmations from Christian perspective without being preachy and does a marvelous job of merging self talk with Christian spirituality. I like all the different categories, even though they wander off subject often they are still exceptionally life affirming truths that are the foundation of a positive mindset. I am jettisoned into ecstatic positivity, confidence and belief by these well crafted words.

Fun Supernatural Mystery, Great Summer Read

Firefly beach is about the emotional journey Beth LaMonte, our heroine takes after going through personal loss and a relationship breakdown. Determined to rediscover herself and start living life again, she moves to a small coastal community to fulfill her youthful dream of becoming an artist and immediately on arrival is rewarded with some artistic success and inspiration. Along with her professional successes, Beth, with the help of a supernatural ball of light ie. the "firefly", discovers a diary of a young woman who disappeared some 30 odd years ago. Caught up in the story of this young girl, she sets out to uncover what happened to her and discovers there is much more than originally meets the eye.

The first half of this book is fairly slow paced, filled with a lot of character development and introducing you to the coastal community. I found myself quite impatient at times and felt that the writing could be a little clunky - there was simply too much commentary about what Beth was doing at that particular point of time. I am a big believer that sometimes its the things that are left unsaid that makes a big impact, and hearing about her eating lunch, having a shower, making the bed whatever mundane activity it happened to be just really could have been edited out.

The character of Beth was quite frustrating to me as well. I understand that she endured quite a few emotional hardships but her reaction to things such as the firefly and some of the events that occur just didn't sit well to me. In fact I think this poor girl could have done with some serious therapy, would have done her a world of good. She does grow throughout the novel and by the end of the book while I still couldn't really relate to her, I did feel she was a stronger person and definitely more likeable to read about. I quite enjoyed the secondary characters of Rod and Kenny both of whom also conquer their own personal demons in the story and I really empathised with both of them. I was hoping there would be perhaps more backstory into Kenny and his relationship with his mother but can understand that it wasn't really of value to the plot, just something that interested me.

The second half of this novel really picked up pace and from about 60% through the ebook on I found it very difficult to put down. Infact towards the end I turned to the clock and realised it was 1am, then found myself unable to sleep as I couldn't stop thinking about some of the developments and plot twists that had come to light! Some of the plot twists relating to Katherine, the diary's owner, I found quite heartbreaking most likely due to being a mother myself. I think also the fact that there were so many forks in Katherine's road that if each decision had just gone a little bit differently things could have worked out so much better. I found this so sad and just wished that things could have worked out differently for her!

Overall I really did enjoy this book, and I think that anyone looking for a fast summer read with a mystery element will thoroughly enjoy this book!

Incredible, dazzling, marvelous, touching

LOVED IT!!!

No more crunching numbers....only a serene life filled with painting and relaxing. That is what Beth thought she would find when she moved to Virginia Point Cove.

What she did find was many sad, lonely residents, a very unpleasant landlord, a jeweler who never spoke more than two words, a couple with a nosey wife, and a firefly that talked to her....yes a firefly. The firefly seemed to summon Beth with his wings and body turns. He frightened Beth at first until she realized he must be trying to tell her something and to guide her to where a secret or unknown item may be. She was right, and what Beth was guided to was a diary of a young girl named Katherine who was the daughter of her landlord and who had disappeared thirty-six years ago. As Beth began reading the diary, she became obsessed with finding Katherine. She even used her painting talents to imagine what Katherine looked like.

FIREFLY BEACH has a strong, passionate heroine that you would want for a friend, a town you that you would want to live in, a storyline that will keep you up late, a mystery that must be solved, and characters that are memorable, loving, and different. The characters also were an odd sort and pathetic in their own way, different, but quite remarkable. Beth brought out the good in a few of the characters....a good that helped their lives become better.

I totally enjoyed this book and did stay up late reading. The author used flashbacks very effectively in order to keep the story flowing smoothly. Her exceptional writing style pulled you in and kept up the intrigue. The book has an appealing, unique storyline with an ending that is heartwarming and one that is kept secret until the very last pages. It was a plot with a different twist. The descriptions and detail were superb. These words truly describe the story and the characters: incredible, outstanding, dazzling, marvelous, and touching.

You will love it. A huge firefly rating of 5/5.

A Compelling Mystery with Beautiful Descriptions

After the death of her mother and a disappointing divorce, Beth moves to a small cottage in Maine to restart her life and pursue a dream she'd buried in her youth as an artist. She follows a firefly down to a secret beach and finds the journal of a teenage girl who disappeared years ago. Her story leads Beth on a journey that brings her into the pasts of all the townspeople. At first the young girl's writing inspires her painting to new levels and then it challenges Beth to face her own past.

The details of Firefly Beach give Beth's story meaning and make it come alive. Ms. Pentermann transports the reader to a cozy town on the breathtaking shores of Maine. As a New Englander myself, I can say her descriptions are spot on and vivid. Underneath all the beautiful description is a mystery that unravels slowly and powerfully. Her novel is about personal relationships and how people are shaped by their past and the decisions they've made throughout their lives.

I very much enjoyed sharing in Beth's success as she overcame her past and her dream as an artist took shape. The townspeople were three dimensional, interesting characters with their own pasts and triumphs and tribulations. The story was a beautiful puzzle to put together and remained a mystery right up until the very last pages where it unwound in profound emotions and truths that came full circle. It was not the way I thought it would be, in fact, the ending pages were far more satisfying!

Firefly Beach is a soothing read that heals at the same time. I recommend it to anyone up for a good mystery and in need of a vacation in which to escape.

Yes, the nucleus is organized and structured just like the atom itself is. This book offers all the physics and mathematics. It's not a book to read, but for study or reference. Very in-depth and it says it all. I didn't rate it 5-stars though, because I really miss schema's, drawings, pictures etc. to present graphically what is now only presented through formula. A picture says more than a thousand words.

Dave Boothroyd has always been fascinated by the workings of engines, in particular with two-stroke motorcycles and their engines. He bought his first motorcycle at fifteen and since then has rarely passed a week without riding one. On the night of April 2/3, 1865, a train left Richmond carrying the gold and silver from the Confederate Treasury, perhaps worth $370,000, as well as $450,000 in gold and silver from a group of Richmond banks. A good basic review of the events that lead to the distribution of the Confederate and Bank of Richmond gold and silver. Memoirs used were well placed in the book. Little or no follow-up on speculation as to what may have happened to the remaining gold and silver.

Brilliant, classic papers on quantum chemistry

This is a truly wonderful book on quantum chemistry, and contains many lucid explainations of different methods. Goddard's chapter on GVB is the best explaination of that theory around. Shavitt gives a detailed explaination of CI. My current favorite is Kutzelnigg's description of pair correlation methods, which provides one of the best description of what is now called coupled-cluster methods I've seen.
